Metalder Episode 15: Soaring Monster – Son! Mother’s Wish!

March 5, 2018 Leave a Comment

Metalder fights the son of Hedogross and Wisdom – Hedogross Junior!

Group of Neros Warriors

Everyone wants a piece of Metalder

Episode Summary

Metalder has a typical day fighting random Neros goons, until he’s suddenly attacked by a new, unaffiliated monster with claws and the ability to turn into puddle of goo. Why, it’s Hedogross Junior – the son of Hedogross and Wisdom! Their life cycle is really short, so he’s already a full-grown adult.

Metalder meets Hedogross Junior

Wisdom interrupts the fight to tell her son that Metalder’s a good guy; Junior refuses to believe her and knocks Metalder off a hill, then goes off to join the Neros Empire. Kids these days.

Junior Joins Neros

A couple of Neros’ men take Junior to the Ghost Bank where they test his fighting skills. He proves his worth by beating up the mantis guy, the grasshopper guy, and then the snake guy from episode 4.

Fight, Fight, Fight

During his rematch with Metalder, Junior realizes that, hey, maybe Metalder’s ain’t so bad after all!

Neros’ warriors kidnap Wisdom

Meanwhile, a group of Neros warriors kidnap Wisdom and use her as bait. Metalder and Junior arrive to rescue her, then she and Junior ride off into the sunset, leaving the Neros Empire behind for good.

Thoughts

And now we’ve reached the end of what one could call “The Hedogross Arc.” It’s a perfectly serviceable storyline, but despite the show devoting three episodes to it, there are no real lasting effects – Junior and Wisdom are gone for good. They really should have showed up again to give Metalder a hand from time to time (like Top Gunder or Ben K), but at least they got a happy ending.

Junior close up

Bye Junior!

The fight scenes were good, and I always get a laugh when Metalder takes a tumble down a hill and everyone just presumes he’s dead.
