Hi, I’m Michael
I’m an artist, filmmaker, and storyteller. Welcome to Chicken Dynasty, the hub for all my creative endeavors. I like making stuff – art, animated web series, short films, photos, and stories. This is how I express myself, and I enjoy going through the creative process to translate my thoughts to reality; it’s like solving a puzzle or a form of meditation.
I also have a blog where I talk about my old projects and artwork, random artifacts and toys, movie/tv/comic reviews, and events (such as comic cons and estate sales).
Why Chickens?
I think Astro Chicken from the Space Quest series of games started it, specifically the chicken self-destruct timer in Space Quest V. I just thought it was funny and that chickens were inherently funny. So when it came time for me to make my very first email address, it made sense for “Chicken” to be the first word; I chose “Dynasty” because in school, at the time, we were learning about Chinese dynasties…though it’s also possible that The Dynasty from Ronin Warriors inspired me as well.
I do want to make a couple things clear, however:
“Chicken Dynasty” has nothing at all to do with the infamous “Duck Dynasty” and is not a parody, satire, or even mockery. Also, I am not a restaurant or affiliated with any restaurants, such as “Chicken Dinesty” in Bhubaneswar, India.
