I like cats. The listing for this estate sale had tons of cat things. I knew I had to go.
But I arrived right when the…I guess you’d call them estate overseers (?) had closed for a lunch break. I waited in a line outside in the humidity, admiring the trees in the front yard.
Look at these trees. LOOK AT THEM!
When the break was over and the doors opened, people rushed in like the stampede in Jumanji – they focused on what they wanted and grabbed it as if they were on a shopping spree or this was Black Friday.
Things gradually calmed down.
Or, at least, the chaos was restricted to the areas of the house I wasn’t in.
When examining this woman’s possessions, it was clear that she liked Elvis, frogs, ducks, and of course the aforementioned cats.
The Cat Room
There was a room dedicated to cats with framed artwork on the walls…
…and a bookcase with cat trinkets like a package of tissues featuring artwork of Audrey Hepburn as a cat (not pictured).
Just look at that ’70s wallpaper!
The cat paintings that were advertised on the website were gone, but there was a pile of Beanie Baby cats left virtually untouched. Sure, I’ll take some.
Obsolete Technology
The only other noteworthy thing I saw was old, obsolete technology. But more modern-old than retro-old.
These vacuum cleaners definitely looked really old, though.
I kind of miss having spindles filled with blank CD-Rs that I have no idea what to do with.
SimCity, SimEarth, and Sim…Charts?
