Space Ghost tries to star in a commercial and get his own catchphrase, then plays baseball with the Council of Doom.
Issue #15
One morning, Space Ghost watches tv and sees Zorak on an advertisement for “Gour-Mayo, the Bread Spread,” giving a couple kids mayonnaise and uttering the catchphrase “The mayo you can eat every day-o!” Space Ghost thinks it’s stupid.
But he’s wrong! The next day, he finds that everyone in the Ghost Planet studios is talking about the ad and uttering the same stupid catchphrase – it’s gone viral.
The next morning, the same thing happens with Moltar and a giant Swiss Army Knife-like gardening tool.
Space Ghost wants a slice of this viral ad pie, not to mention his own catch-phrase, so tries starring in a few ads of his own, but nothing catches on.
That is, until he unwittingly stars in an ad for a cleaning product and people laugh when a bunch of crap gets poured on him.
Spacey at the Bat
In the back-up story, Space Ghost and co. (including Birdman!) play a baseball game against the Council of Doom.
But the game quickly devolves into a brawl, and Zorak and Moltar hitch a ride on a random train: “Now that’s what I call the ending coming out of left field,” says Zorak.
Thoughts
It’s always nice to see Space Ghost, Zorak, and Moltar, and their amusing banter with each other, but neither story was particularly funny and both had issues with abrupt endings – especially the second story, which was a straight up mess.
