“New Faces,” taking us beyond the Beginning of the End, is a classic sci-fi/horror tale of the price we pay for the things we desire. Mr Ospina (Felix) is a fine actor who brings many nuances to his performance. We feel for him in his isolation, his hopes, exhilaration, doubts, then his struggles with the moral issue: can he accept to wear the faces of hapless murder victims? (After a very brief tussle, he decides: no. Felix’s is a noble soul.) –The Mysterious Hooded Lady is quite chilling. Is she in fact Tiffany’s mom? I think she is. –I think in future Felix would do well to inform his dates before he takes them out that he has no face. That way, he would avoid awkward requests later.
