  1. The Professor says

It’s a pleasure to have an episode devoted to the adventures of Carl. However, what a sad turn of affairs for him, 1) to be imprisoned and nearly killed by an ex-flame (was she an ex-flame? I think she was), and 2) to be tricked into thinking someone reputable wanted to print his poems. —As Carl was reasoning with the insane Kathy, it occurred to me that this member of the team is, in fact, very reasonable. Evil demons may exist, sure, but once they are dead they are dead. Strange, given that Carl is such a marsh-wiggle (reference is to the Narnia stories), that is to say, so negative and cynical most of the time. But then (second mental occurrence) it occurred to me that that is perhaps precisely why he is so negative and cynical: because he sees the world as it is! —I know at least one viewer who is eager to see the Professor return. I have nothing against Felix’s being on the team, especially since he has a disability, but he does simply not have the Professor’s “auctoritas.” (The issue came up for me, because of the matter with the onion rings, whether Felix actually has a mouth.)

Is there a Wikipedia article on Scientific Method yet? I would like to be able to go to a place with a sufficiently detailed summary of all the episodes.

Cassie (not Kathy) is the closest Carl has ever gotten in a romantic relationship, so yes, you could classify her as an ex-flame.

Will the Professor return? Do you really think he survived falling off that cliff? Only time will tell.

We can only hope Felix will eventually find the “auctoritas” you mention. Keep in mind he’s still very inexperienced when it comes to being a leader. And yes, Felix does have a mouth, just no skin on his face (like “a living skeleton”).

No Wikipedia article yet. Sure would be nice, though!
