While investigating Galactor’s new submarines, the Science Ninja Team rescues an orphaned baby whale.
We begin this episode like many others, with Galactor’s latest creation wrecking a bunch of stuff. This time they’re using a group of submarines that look like whales to attack ships, bridges, and chemical plants.
Dr. Nambu orders Ken to assemble the Science Ninja Team to see if they can track down the mysterious whale submarine(s) responsible for these attacks.
The One with the Whales
The God Phoenix flies over the ocean and follows a pod of whales. One of Galactor’s submarines shows up and just kills them all for no reason! All except for a baby whale, an orphaned survivor.
Galactor’s whale submarine leaves, but a pod of killer whales arrive in its place; Jinpei goes out in his buggy to protect the baby whale, and he and the rest of the team take it back to their homebase, the Crescent Coral.
Nambu yells at the team for wasting their time saving the baby whale instead of following Galactor’s submarine. However, all is not lost. Nambu puts a tracking device on the baby whale and sets it free, hoping it will somehow find Galactor’s secret base.
Hunt for the Galactor Base
The baby whale leads the team to a small Arctic listening post that belongs to Galactor. Joe takes care of the guards inside, then Jinpei throws a drill rocket that burrows a hole leading directly to Galactor’s underground base.
In the base, the team finds all the whale submarine’s docked; they secretly plant tiny dart-like explosives on each one. Everyone except Jinpei evacuates the base as it and the submarines are destroyed.
But was Jinpei caught in the explosion?! Nope, the baby whale rescued him and gave him a ride out.
Yet another average episode, like the last one. It’s not bad but there’s nothing at all memorable to make it worth watching. Skip it unless you think the baby whale is cute.
