On the Planet of Giants

Episode Summary

Now back in space, the gang uses Giru (the robot that swallowed the Dragon Radar) as a navigator to direct them to the nearest Black Star Dragon Ball. First stop: a planet where everything is huge.

Pan with giant bee

Pan with a giant bee

While Pan puts on an insect outfit (?) and parties with some bees, Trunks and Goku find the 4-Star Dragon Ball in an apple. But before they can get to it, a giant eats it.

The giant has a massive toothache

The Ball gets stuck in one of the giant’s teeth; Goku goes in his mouth and rips it out. One Dragon Ball down, seven to go!

Dragon Ball retrieved!

Thoughts

A forgettable episode that put me half to sleep. When I fully awoke, images of dancing bees were running through my mind. I kept wondering, did this really happen or did I dream it? The bigger question is, did Irene Cara’s Flashdance…What a Feeling really play during the bee scene in the UK dub or is Wikipedia lying to me?

Goku pulling Dragon Ball out of tooth

Yeesh!

Seeing the Dragon Ball stuck inside the giant’s cavity grossed me out. Then Goku smashing the tooth after pulling it out made me uncomfortable. If you’re sensitive to teeth stuff or giant bees, don’t watch this episode.
