Goku starts his fight with General Rilldo as Pan tries to rescue Trunks, who’s been turned into a metal slab and sent to Dr. Myuu.
Goku hooks back up with Trunks and Pan at their Capsule Corp. spaceship as General Rilldo arrives. After Pan punches him (and fails to do any damage), Rilldo shoots a beam from his mouth and turns Trunks into a metal slab a la Han Solo in carbonite.
Trunks gets teleported to Rilldo’s compound and sent to Dr. Myuu’s lab; while Pan heads over there to get him back, Goku fights Rilldo.
Rilldo revives the Sigma Force and fuses with them to become Hyper-Meta Rilldo and Goku transforms into a Super Saiyan. All right, the warm up is done.
Fight’s not bad and gets better in the next episode. Rilldo’s a good opponent, even though his metal transfiguration whatever beam is similar to Dabura’s spit turning people into stone in DBZ. I didn’t like how the Sigma Force was so easily resurrected, but they didn’t last long and were just there to provide parts for Rilldo’s transformation.
I like that Pan has something to do, and her trying to track down Trunks is just as important as Goku’s fight with Rilldo. She’s not relegated to mere spectator, gawking at Goku’s every move. Yet.
