Dragon Ball GT Episode 18: Ya’ Data’s Flawed!! Son Goku’s True Determination

Goku fights the Sigma Force.

Episode Summary

Goku fights General Rilldo’s Sigma Force while Pan and Trunks leave the Machine Mutant base and head back to their ship.

Watch out, Goku!

The Sigma Force robots combine Voltron-style into one, stronger robot: Super Mega Cannon Sigma. I had to google that to make sure I got the order right, and that it wasn’t Super Sigma Mega Cannon or Mega Super Cannon Sigma. Despite the name, it doesn’t have a cannon.

Despite the upgrade, the combined robot performs about the same as the separate robots; Goku overpowers and destroys it (him?) with a Kamehameha.

This fight’s just a game to Goku

Thoughts

This episode didn’t really work for me. The Sigma Force is such a boring opponent (generic, non-threatening-looking robots with zero personality) and we didn’t need an entire episode devoted to this fight – hell, they didn’t even need to exist in the story! Anyway, Rilldo’s on his way to fight Goku and the rest of the gang, so things will pick up again next episode.
