Dragon Ball GT Episode 14: Catch the Rhythm!? Capture Luud!!

May 27, 2018 1 Comment

Goku and Pan work together to finally destroy Luud.

Inside Luud

Episode Summary

In the endless void within Luud, we see Pan and all the other people who were turned into dolls and absorbed, such as Dolltaki, the Para Para Brothers, and all the other Luudist (Luudite?) followers.

Pan and Dolltaki

Pan asks Dolltaki how to get out of Luud

She interrogates Dolltaki on how they can escape, and he says the only way out is by hitting a spot on Luud’s chest simultaneously from both the inside and outside. The Para Para Brothers use dumb microphones to pass (and sing) this information along to Goku.

The Para Para Brothers bust out their microphones

Goku and Pan try but fail to get the timing of their energy blasts right, until he starts saying the names of three random foods to get her in sync. It works, Luud busts open and everyone is finally freed – but Dolltaki makes a beeline to a ship and escapes.

Thoughts

Thank goodness one of the show’s more lifeless fights is finally done. There’s not much to this episode, as it’s almost entirely about Goku and Pan trying to hit that one spot on Luud. Yawn.

Pan and Goku

Pan and Goku are finally reunited

The Para Para Brothers sort of redeem themselves by helping out, but it’s more of a necessity for survival than anything. They weren’t all bad to begin with, though.

Finally!

Goku naming the foods was pretty silly, but it’s the type of silly that I think Toriyama would have approved of.

That Goku & Pan pic makes them look like siblings or close friends. It’s still funny to me how the boy is actually her gramps.
